About Warm Shelf

Warm minimalism. Curated quietly. One piece at a time.

Why we built Warm Shelf

Warm Shelf exists for the part of a home most catalogues skip: the corner you actually live in. The reading chair at the end of a long week. The console table that catches your keys and a single fresh stem. The wall that gets the morning light. We curate lighting, wall clocks, mirrors, vases, sculptures, trays, and small decorative objects — each piece chosen to feel less like a product and more like something that already belonged in your room.

Our philosophy: warm minimalism

We are not minimalist for its own sake. Cold, empty rooms get tiring. The aesthetic we curate sits a step further along the same axis — fewer objects, but warmer ones. Pleated washi paper instead of plastic shades. Solid wood and travertine stone instead of laminate. Brushed brass and aged gold instead of chrome. The result is a home that breathes, ages well, and still feels human at 9pm on a Tuesday.

How we choose what to sell

We don’t carry trend pieces and we don’t carry warehouses of inventory. Every piece on the shelf has been picked against a small set of questions:

  • Does it look like it could live in someone’s grandparents’ home, and also in a 25-year-old’s first apartment?
  • Does the material age into character rather than into wear?
  • Does the shape work with linen, oak, and warm white walls — the most common Western interior palette?
  • Would we want it in our own home at 9pm with the overhead light off?

If a piece passes those four questions, it gets a place on the catalogue. If it doesn’t, it stays out — even if the margins would be tempting.

Style references we curate against

Japandi, Wabi-Sabi, Nordic, Mid-Century, Hollywood Regency, Organic Modern. We don’t prescribe a single look — these are the aesthetic vocabularies that the catalogue moves between, depending on the piece. If your room leans toward one of them, you’ll find pieces here that feel made for it.

How we source and ship

Warm Shelf is a curated retailer, not a manufacturer. We source our products from established suppliers and manufacturers in Europe and Asia, and ship through a trusted network of fulfilment partners. Most orders dispatch from our European fulfilment partner; some specialty items ship directly from our suppliers in Asia. We ship worldwide to the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand with free standard shipping on every order. Most orders arrive within 1–9 business days from dispatch — see our Shipping Policy for region-specific transit times and our Refund Policy for the 30-day return window.

Meet the founder

Arthur Hof, founder of Warm Shelf

Arthur Hof founded Warm Shelf in 2025 with a simple idea: most home decor catalogues skip the corner you actually live in. After years of finding it hard to source decor that felt warm and considered without being trendy or disposable, Arthur set up Warm Shelf as the kind of small, slow store he wished existed — curated quietly, one piece at a time, for the part of a home that gets the morning light.
