Design story
The traditional Andon (行燈) is one of Japan's oldest paper lanterns, originally lit by oil and placed on low tables in Edo-period homes. We brought it down to bedside scale and replaced the oil flame with a safe, warm-white integrated LED. The pleated paper, the lacquered wood frame, the soft warm glow — everything that made the original feel calming is still there.
Materials & craftsmanship

Frequently asked questions
What is an Andon?
A traditional Japanese paper-and-wood lantern, originally lit by oil. This is the modern LED-powered version of the same silhouette.
How is it powered?

Can the LED be replaced?
No — it's integrated and rated for 30,000+ hours of life.
Is it bright enough to read by?
Yes — comfortable for bedside reading, though it's primarily designed for ambient mood lighting.
